Key Responsibilities: 1. Sample Development & Fit Evaluation Analyze tech packs, specifications, and buyer requirements to develop accurate garment samples. Conduct sample reviews and fit trials on live models or mannequins. Suggest improvements in construction, fit, and finishing to meet buyer expectations. 2. Technical Specification & Documentation Create and review size charts, measurement sheets, BOM (Bill of Materials), and construction details. Provide clear technical comments and guidance to pattern makers, tailors, and the sampling team. Maintain accurate tech files and version control of sample comments and approvals. 3. Production Support & Line Setup Support production during pre-production meetings (PPMs) and style handovers. Ensure technical parameters such as seam allowance, SPI (stitch per inch), and attachment methods are understood and implemented. Resolve construction issues during bulk production and advise on feasible alternatives without compromising quality. 4. Buyer Communication Liaise with buyers technical teams for approvals, clarifications, and finalization of construction methods. Address fit, size grading, or production issues raised by buyers or QA teams. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with pattern masters, quality controllers, production supervisors, and merchandisers. Monitor trial runs and pilot garments to ensure alignment with approved samples and tech specs. Candidate Requirements: Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in garment technical roles within an export house. Education: Diploma/Degree in Apparel Technology, Garment Construction, Fashion Technology, or a related discipline. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing operations, fit analysis, and technical specifications. Proficiency in working with tech packs, CAD patterns (Lectra, Gerber preferred), and manual pattern drafting. Familiarity with both woven and knit garments (tops, bottoms, dresses, etc.) Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, analytical, and organized. Effective communication skills to coordinate with both internal teams and overseas buyers. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Working Conditions: Location: On-site – North Mumbai Work Week: 6 days/week Environment: High-volume, export-oriented manufacturing setup Preferred Advantage: Hands-on experience working with international brands (e.g., H&M, Zara, Mango, GAP, etc.) Exposure to sustainability, eco-compliance, and fit standardization practices Experience in high-style variation or fast-fashion production environments
