Job Description

Hi Candidate,

We are hiring for Cashiering role in Reinsurance - Mumbai (Vikhroli)

Roles and Responsibilities: -

Advisor and Senior Advisor:-

Management of cash receipts and payments

  • Review the Gallagher Re bank statements across all Gallagher Re UK & US legal entities; record insurance related transactions through the cash book and various accounting systems and apply to the relevant Account Controller.
  • Monitor acceptance of receipts by Account Controllers as per agreed service levels.
  • Manage the cash suspense account to determine the ultimate recipient of unidentified settlements.
  • Manage and process all requests for payments received, to ensure value date requests can be met. Input information into bank systems as appropriate.
  • Reconcile daily the transactions and balances within the cash books against Bank statement data.
  • Act as mediator between Accounting and Treasury to transact the buying and selling of foreign exchange as required by the Business Units and apply the rate of exchange achieved to the relevant broking system.

Team Working and BU / Group Liaison

  • Liaise with Account Controllers, Business units and Treasury as appropriate, to ensure service delivery meets required targets and clients requirements
  • Handle queries raised by Account Controllers, Business units, Group Finance and Treasury colleagues and respond within agreed timescales. Where necessary, escalate queries and issues to Senior Manager/Compliance/Business Unit as per agreed process.
  • Provide input and challenge as required, key group development initiatives, whilst maintaining a flexible and supportive approach.
  • Provide guidance and assist others who are facing backlogs, or dealing with complex issues such as compliance procedures.

Others

  • Identify improvements to Cashiering processes and controls.
  • Support management and the Company in the management of the business risks applicable to area of employment, as set out in the Policy
  • Any other duties commensurate with position or level of responsibility.

Knowledge and Skills:

Communication

  • Superior and clear communication, with excellent verbal and written communication skills to enable direct negotiation of challenging and difficult issues with Accounting, Business units, Banks and Treasury colleagues at all organisational levels.
  • Good understanding of escalation procedures and effective business communication routes / approaches.

Business / Technical Knowledge

  • 2 to 4 years of Excellent knowledge of Cashiers and A&S control and compliance processes.
  • Fair understanding of the banking system and other related service providers.
  • Competent user of internal accounting systems, Cashiering system, MS Outlook and their replacements, as well as external banking systems.

Flexible for UK rotational Shifts :- 6 AM to 2:45 PM / 11:45 AM to 9:45 PM and 3 PM to 11:45 PM.(Pick up and Drop provided)
