Functional Consultant ( Agriculture Domain)

Role & responsibilities

The Functional Consultant acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring that IT systems and solutions align with business requirements and objectives. This role involves understanding existing processes, identifying gaps, proposing improvements, and supporting the implementation of functional solutions.

Responsibilities:

i. Conduct AS-IS analysis of current business processes and systems.

ii. Gather and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.

iii. Support the design of TO-BE processes and system workflows.

iv. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business needs.

v. Assist in testing, user training, and system rollout.

vi. Prepare functional documentation such as FRS, process maps, and reports.

vii. Liaise with stakeholders to address queries and provide functional support throughout the project lifecycle.

viii. Provide functional inputs for RFP preparation, including complete process flow and solution design.

ix. Collaborate with Implementation Agency and Client to ensure functional requirements are understood and implemented correctly.

Qualification:

BE/B.Tech/MCA or equivalent in Computer Science/ Electronics/ IT from Institute/University recognized by UGC/AICTE.

Minimum 7 years of IT experience, including 3 years in business analysis, gained at a reputable organization.

iii. Experience in Digital Agriculture, AgriTech, Agrotech Finance, or Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) systems is an added advantage.

Desirable Experience:

i. Hands-on Experience in Software project, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance (preferable), especially in conceptualization and implementation along with bid preparation, vendor management, and RFP drafting of e-Governance Solution.

ii. Proficiency in preparing high-quality documentation such as Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), AS-IS/TO-BE reports, gap analysis, etc.

iii. Familiarity with SLAs, service benchmarking, and monitoring frameworks.

iv. Should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills in making the appropriate technical decisions.

v. Experience in Contract Management & Vendor Management.

vi. Certifications in business analysis/project management will be preferred.

vii. Experience in Digital Agriculture, AgriTech, Agrotech Finance, or Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) systems is an added advantage.

viii. Good analytical, documentation, presentation and communication skills.
