Frontend Engineer (React + TypeScript + Next.js) – Remote

We’re looking for a passionate Frontend Engineer to join our team and help build a modern, templatised document generation platform. The product enables users to visually design templates and dynamically generate PDF documents through a rich, interactive GUI.

You’ll work on complex frontend challenges at the intersection of UI builders, document layout, and real-time rendering, collaborating closely with founders and backend engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, product thinking, and building polished, user-facing tools from the ground up.

You’ll be part of a small, highly skilled team responsible for crafting intuitive and powerful user experiences using React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with a strong focus on performance, usability, and maintainability.

What You’ll Do

• Build, test, and deploy modern frontend applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Develop rich GUI components that allow users to visually create, edit, and preview document templates.
• Implement dynamic rendering logic for PDFs and document layouts based on user-defined templates and data.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to turn complex requirements into intuitive interfaces.
• Use AI coding tools (such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-tested frontend code following best practices.
• Participate in architectural discussions around state management, component design, and performance optimisation.
• Continuously refine UI/UX consistency across the platform.
• Stay up to date with modern frontend tools, patterns, and ecosystem trends.

What We’re Looking For

• 1–2+ years of professional experience building React-based web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs or GraphQL.
• Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong attention to detail in design, usability, and user experience.
• Experience building complex, state-driven UIs (forms, editors, builders, dashboards, etc.).
• Comfortable working remotely, asynchronously, and in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Experience with frontend state management libraries (Zustand, Redux, Recoil, or similar).
• Knowledge of frontend testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library).
• Portfolio of 2–3 frontend projects (personal, freelance, or professional).
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (proficient or conversational level required for collaboration).

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience working on document editors, design tools, or no-code/low-code platforms.
• Experience in implementing UI platforms like Canva
• Familiarity with PDF generation, canvas-based UIs, or layout/rendering systems.
• Previous experience at a product-focused startup.
• Exposure to AI-powered or developer tooling products.
