Freelance Senior Data Strategy Advisor- GenAI

Flexing It has partnered with Our client, a leading private equity firm, is looking to engage with a Senior Data Strategy Advisor - GenAI to work closely with executive leadership, data teams, and operational units to architect and implement a comprehensive data strategy that harnesses the potential of Generative AI. This role will focus on translating business needs into data-driven solutions, identifying high-impact GenAI use cases, and building frameworks for data governance, infrastructure, and value realization. This is a strategic advisory role intended for a seasoned data leader with deep experience in AI/ML, GenAI, data architecture, and executive stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise the C-suite and senior leadership on long-term data and AI strategy.
• Identify and prioritize Generative AI opportunities aligned with the company’s business objectives.
• Guide the organization in building a modern data foundation that supports AI/ML and GenAI applications.
• Recommend improvements to data infrastructure, pipelines, and tooling.
• Help define data governance models to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance.
• Build business cases and success metrics for each initiative.
• Oversee pilots and support transition into scalable production deployments.
• Mentor internal data, analytics, and product teams on GenAI best practices.

Skills Required

• At least 15 +years of experience in data strategy, data science, analytics, or enterprise AI leadership.
• Proven track record of advising or building GenAI/ML strategies within high-growth companies or startups.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, vector databases, data infrastructure (e.g., cloud platforms, data lakes), and AI governance.
• Experience in working with or advising portfolio companies of venture capital/private equity firms is a plus.
• Strong communication and executive influencing skills.
• Hands-on mindset, yet strategic in vision.
