DevSecOps Engineer (React, Node.js, MySQL) – Part-Time/Contract (Remote)

About Us

We are building a modern language learning web app designed to help users learn efficiently with smart tools and personalized content. Our tech stack includes React (frontend), Express/Node.js (backend), and MySQL (database).

As we move toward launch, we’re seeking an intermediate-level DevSecOps engineer to join us on a contract basis to help set up and optimize our infrastructure, pipelines, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

You’ll work closely with our development team to implement and maintain critical DevOps components, including:

CI/CD & Deployment

• Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or similar).
• Automate build, test, and deployment workflows for React and Node.js apps.
• Configure deployment strategies (e.g., staging → production, minimal downtime).

Containerization & Environments

• Containerize applications using Docker.
• Manage multiple environments using Docker Compose or similar.
• Ensure smooth local development setup for developers.
• Ensure orchestration of the containers

Cloud Infrastructure

• Set up cloud hosting (AWS/GCP/DigitalOcean — open to discussion).
• Use Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred) to manage infrastructure.
• Set up auto-scaling, backups, and load balancing.

Monitoring & Security

• Implement basic monitoring/logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, or Sentry).
• Securely manage secrets and environment variables (e.g., GitHub Secrets, AWS Secrets Manager).
• Apply DevSecOps best practices in our cloud and app environments.

Documentation & Support

• Create clear documentation for setup, deployment workflows, and infrastructure.
• Provide support and knowledge sharing for developers as needed.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
• Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Good understanding of cloud security and best practices.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Job Details

• Type: Part-Time / Freelance Contract
• Duration: Initial contract for setup phase (~2–3 months), with possible extension
• Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
