Role Overview

Food Ingredients Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute regional & national sales strategies for pea protein, starch, and related portfolios.
  • Identify new business opportunities, key industry segments, and strategic accounts.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective lead generation, conversion, and account management.

Client Engagement & Technical Support

  • Conduct high-level technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Understand customer product applications and provide technical guidance.
  • Build strong relationships with key purchase, R&D, and production stakeholders.

Team & Operations Management

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Technical Sales Executives.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Production, QC, and Supply Chain teams for samples, trials, and order fulfillment.

Market & Performance Management

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Track market intelligence, industry trends, and competitor activity.
  • Prepare MIS reports, forecasts, sales analysis, and business insights for management.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    • B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry

      OR

    • MBA / PGDM in Marketing, Sales, or Business Administration (with technical aptitude).
  • Experience:

    • 5+ years in B2B sales, technical sales, field sales, or business development.
    • Experience in food ingredients, nutraceuticals, raw materials, or related sectors is an added advantage.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical understanding of food ingredients or scientific applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to independently manage field sales visits and client interactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for sales, customer engagement, and achieving targets.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territories.
