Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: The Qualcomm Self-Driving Team is looking for a vehicle tech that has experience working with ADAS and self-driving technologies. The ideal candidate will be familiar with vehicle sensor retrofits, creatively implementing mounting racks, installing vehicle logging system hardware, wiring, and technical troubleshooting. This candidate must also be able to perform vehicle maintenance and will work with the engineering team on calibration and data collection tasks. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. The candidate will be working as part of the Fleet team. Supporting all autonomous vehicle related activities. Focus on understanding all the hardware system architecture and sensor integration of our test fleet. Atleast 2-3 yrs of experience in Python development Exposure to ADAS Track inventory and project assets. Understanding Linux PC system setup and configuration. IP network setup and management. Perform diagnosis and repair of the vehicles electrical system, simple mechanical tasks and potential software issues (with guidance) Fabricate and installation and/or modify existing prototype components/fixtures Install sensor, test equipment, and other components in the vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures Candidate will provide l ab support across the organization. This includes system h/w commissioning, bring up, networking, cabling, and racking as well as working with other support organizations as needed (IT, Lab org, proto) The candidate will need to be able to drive a car/vehicle. Drivers license should be in good standing. Support and travel for trade shows or weekend testing is expected. Data collection will be part of the duties which includes bring up of and basic trouble shooting of the vehicle stack. Candidate should have some basic general mechanical understanding. Record keeping of performed tasks. Communicate directly with engineers and other technicians to ensure a high level of technical support Minimum Qualifications: Highschool or some college 3+ years related lab and or field work experience. Technician/mechanic Valid driver license with clean record Good technical and mechanical ability Automotive electrical understanding Basic computer- Linux/Windows experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience in customer interaction for support, demo and trial. Advanced driver training of advantage Electrical knowledge and training Basic scripting in phyton Good understanding of QXDM, ADB, and/ or other logging and troubleshooting tools is a must. Willing to travel and weekend work Good communication skills and team player attitude with sense of urgency and responsibility is must. Experience in customer interaction for support, demo and trial. Expertise in wireless and wireline sensors (setup and installation) is Preferred
