Fish Farm Supervisor

Location: Puzhal, Chennai Company: KoifishIndia Nishikigoi (India’s largest Japanese Koi distributor) Job Type: Full-time Salary Range: ₹15,000 – ₹22,000/month (based on experience) Shift Timing: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Weekly 1 day off) 🐟 Responsibilities (Daily/Weekly Farm Management)The Supervisor will be responsible for complete management of the koi fish farm, including: 🔹 Fish & Pond Care Monitor fish health, feeding schedules, and behavior daily. Report and manage any signs of disease, injury, or stress in koi. Ensure correct feed is given in proper quantity and time. Maintain quarantine protocols for new arrivals. Carry out fish medicine treatments as per guidance. 🔹 Water Quality & Filtration Daily cleaning of fish pond filters and perform water changes. Check water quality (pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, oxygen levels) regularly. Ensure filtration systems, oxygen pumps, and UV lights are functioning. Prevent algae buildup and maintain clean, clear ponds. 🔹 Staff Management Supervise daily work of farm staff (cleaning, feeding, pond care). Assign duties clearly and ensure timely completion. Train staff on proper koi handling and equipment use. Maintain discipline and resolve conflicts among workers. 🔹 Maintenance & Cleanliness Keep fish farm dry, neat, and clean at all times. Oversee repair/maintenance of plumbing, pumps, and filters. Keep farm tools and materials organized. 🔹 Record Keeping & Reporting Maintain logbook of water tests, feeding, mortality, and treatments. Keep track of koi stock inventory (arrival, quarantine, sales). Submit daily task reports and weekly farm condition updates. 🔹 Customer & Delivery Support Assist during koi packing, bagging, and shipping. Coordinate with delivery staff for smooth client orders. Be present when customers visit farm for koi selection. 🎓 Requirements Education: B.Sc. Aquaculture, Zoology, Fisheries, or related field preferred. Experience: 2+ years in aquaculture/fish farm management (ornamental fish experience is a plus). Skills: Leadership, water testing, basic plumbing/filtration knowledge. Language: Tamil (required), English/Hindi (preferred).
