Firmware Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end development of DLMS-based Type-1 single-phase and three-phase smart energy meters, including ABT meters, rack-mounted meters, smart meters, water meters, panel meters, and export meters.
• Oversee architecture design, firmware strategies, hardware design reviews, and technology roadmaps.
• Guide teams in Embedded C programming on Atmel, Renesas, Freescale microcontrollers and ensure code quality.
• Approve schematics, PCB layouts, component selection, and ensure DFM/DFT for mass manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with IS standards, R-APDRP norms, accuracy class requirements, and export regulatory standards.
• Drive testing, validation, and calibration processes using ZERA, MTE benches and advanced tools.
• Lead root cause analysis, reliability improvements, and field issue resolution for HT/LT meters.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, Testing & Supply Chain for smooth manufacturing and product upgrades.
• Evaluate vendors for PCBs, components, calibration equipment, and testing benches.
• Mentor teams, control R&D timelines, manage budgets, and support new product development initiatives.

Skills Required:

• 15+ Years of experience in related field.
• Deep technical expertise in energy meter firmware, hardware, communication protocols, and calibration.
• Strong leadership in R&D, team management, project control, and cross-functional coordination.
• Strong understanding of meter accuracy standards, compliance norms, and manufacturing processes.

Educational Background:

• BE/ B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or Instrumentation Engineering
