Firmware Architect

Role Overview: As a member of the research and development department, your primary responsibility will be to set up the department from scratch and ensure the complete arrangement of required instruments. You will be required to understand the project requirements provided by the customer for the design development of Smart Energy Meters with HES and MDM integration. This will involve preparing a detailed project plan, estimating project costs, and engaging in discussions with all stakeholders involved in the project. Key Responsibilities: - Optimize design and implementation at the firmware and hardware levels - Develop products using different microcontrollers, finalize hardware designs, and develop firmware at both application and logical levels while making efficient use of available resources - Oversee project planning, scheduling, scoping, and estimation - Manage design, development, unit testing, integration testing, system-level testing, acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of firmware and hardware components - Coordinate team activities, provide technical support to team members, and ensure adherence to scheduled milestones - Work closely with the hardware team to finalize components and verify schematics - Prepare development test phases to obtain certifications from external NABL accredited Labs (ERDA/CPRI/YMPL) for BIS and other necessary certifications - Interact regularly with stakeholders to identify critical areas and develop mitigation plans - Communicate with customers to address any amendments in requirements and analyze field data reports to enhance meter functionality - Conduct regular internal review meetings to monitor project activities comprehensively and keep management informed of progress Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field - Strong experience in firmware and hardware development for Smart Energy Meters - Proficiency in working with different microcontrollers and conducting testing at various levels - Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute projects effectively - Good communication skills to interact with stakeholders, customers, and team members - Knowledge of obtaining certifications from external labs for product compliance (Note: No additional details of the company were provided in the job description.),
