Financial controller

You are a seasoned Financial Controller looking to make a significant impact in a fast-growing education provider, Dreamtime Learning. Your primary responsibility will be to lead financial operations, ensure compliance, and support fundraising efforts as the company scales its operations. Your key responsibilities will include developing and executing financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives, managing budgeting and financial planning across various business units, and leading fundraising efforts including equity and debt financing. You will also be responsible for preparing investor pitch decks, financial models, and business valuation reports, as well as building and maintaining relationships with investors and funding institutions. In addition, you will need to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS/GAAP and statutory regulations, oversee audits, tax compliance, and regulatory filings, and implement internal controls and risk mitigation strategies. Optimizing cost structures while maintaining operational efficiency will be crucial, along with driving automation and digitalization in financial operations and enhancing ERP/accounting systems. As a leader, you will mentor the finance team, foster a culture of accountability and financial discipline, and be a key player in the operational finance management of the organization. To excel in this role, you should possess a CA/CPA/CMA/MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification, have at least 8 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial management, and demonstrate proven experience in startup fundraising, investor relations, and financial modeling. Strong knowledge of taxation, compliance, and financial planning is essential, along with experience in financial due diligence, valuations, and capital structuring. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar platforms will be beneficial. Previous experience in the education sector, particularly in EdTech, schools, or related fields, will be advantageous. Exposure to B2C & B2B financial models, experience in M&A, venture capital funding, and financial restructuring are preferred qualifications.
