Job Description

Role Overview: You will be joining the Financial Services Corporate team at Stantec as a Financial Analyst, Corporate Services. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Stantec's Innovation and Functional Services teams with financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and other special projects as needed. You will report directly to the Innovation Controller and indirectly to the Financial Manager, Corporate Services. Key Responsibilities: - Assist with financial accounting, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for the Innovation and Functional Services teams. - Provide accurate financial analytics and reports in a timely manner by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining data, as well as tracking key performance metrics. - Conduct in-depth analysis of historical results, performance variance analysis, interpret data, and identify trends for reporting purposes. - Support ad hoc reporting and analysis to assist with business decisions, changes, and trends as directed by supervisors. - Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting in compliance with IFRS within a strong control environment. - Identify and assist with process improvements, increase productivity through automated reporting. - Collaborate with the Valuation, Planning & Transaction Services team to meet finance goals and objectives. - Protect the organization by maintaining confidentiality of financial information. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, preferably working towards a related designation (CPA or CFA preferred) with a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in Financial Reporting and Analysis. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, sound financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills with a general understanding of IFRS and SOX controls. - Experience with Oracle and Planning Based Cloud Services (PBCS) preferred. - Client-focused with a good business acumen, strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. - Ability to assess priorities, coordinate projects, meet deadlines, and commit to continuous learning and process improvements.
