Key Responsibilities

• General accounting:
• Ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
• Preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
• Maintaining the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries
• Summarizing financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial statements
• Securing financial information by completing database backups
• Accounts payable:
• Ensuring invoices are booked in the system on a timely basis and authorized according to the delegation of authority
• Ensuring all approved invoices are for goods and services received as ordered and are accurate in prices, extensions, and terms
• Ensuring all expenses are charged to the correct account and performing reclassification when needed
• Ensuring payments to suppliers are supported with authorized invoices and conducting three-way matching by comparing receiving reports, invoices, and purchase orders before processing payments
• Working closely with procurement and logistics teams to resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies
• Ensuring the accounts payable sub-ledger is reconciled to the general ledger monthly to reflect accurate financial records
• Ensuring related internal control procedures are maintained and complied with including vendor or customer reconciliation, GST, TDS filing, statutory compliances, and accounting activities
