Finance Head - Projects

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Budgeting

• Prepare annual and project-specific budgets in collaboration with project and planning teams.
• Forecast project cash flows and ensure timely fund allocation and optimization.
• Monitor variances and initiate corrective actions.

Project Accounting & Controls

• Oversee end-to-end project accounting, including WIP (work-in-progress), capitalization, and cost allocations.
• Implement strong financial controls for procurement, vendor payments, and expense tracking.
• Monitor project margins and financial KPIs, and provide periodic dashboards to management.

Commercial Oversight

• Review and validate project contracts, change orders, and billing milestones.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in client billing and collections.
• Negotiate financial terms and payment schedules with vendors and subcontractors.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, contract terms, and internal policies.
• Manage project audits (internal and external) and drive timely closure of observations.
• Assess financial risks in project execution and recommend mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead a team of finance professionals deployed across key projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, commercial, and legal functions.
• Train and build financial awareness across project leadership teams.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

• Strong financial acumen with deep understanding of project finance and cost control.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Familiarity with project ERP tools (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of taxation, accounting standards, and financial compliance.

Preferred Background:

• Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure, construction, EPC, or integrated services projects.
• Proven track record of financial leadership in fast-paced, project-driven environments.
