Job Description

Role Summary:

The Finance Director is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, overseeing all financial operations, and ensuring the company's financial health. This role includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, audit management, financial reporting, and improving overall financial performance. The Finance Director will work closely with senior leadership to support decision-making and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities.

2. Financial Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including AP, AR, cash flow management, and general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Optimize working capital and manage treasury functions.

3. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to statutory laws, tax regulations, and financial policies.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Manage corporate governance, legal compliance, and internal audits.

4. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and present financial reports to leadership and the board.
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, scenario planning, and cost optimization reviews.
  • Identify areas for financial efficiency and business improvement.

5. Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, operational risks, and market risks.
  • Implement risk management frameworks and controls.
  • Oversee insurance, investment, and financial risk exposure.

6. Audit & External Coordination

  • Lead internal and external audit processes.
  • Coordinate with auditors, banks, financial consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure audit readiness and timely completion of all audit requirements.

7. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the finance team.
  • Build capability, manage performance, and ensure timely deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education

  • CA / CPA / MBA in Finance or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • 1015+ years of progressive experience in finance operations.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership or strategic finance role.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial modeling, compliance, and stakeholder management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and financial software.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead multi-functional teams.
