Finance Controller

In this role as a Finance Controller located in Delhi, you will be responsible for building robust accounting and controllership processes, owning exports-related finance and compliances across multiple geographies, transitioning the finance function from outsourced to in-house, and partnering with leadership on banking, working capital, and future fundraising efforts. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Controllership & Accounting** - Own end-to-end accounting, book closure, and statutory compliances for all entities (India and overseas). - Transition accounting in-house, including hiring and developing a finance team. - Ensure accurate and timely financial statements under applicable GAAP. - Design and implement internal controls, SOPs, and approval workflows. - **Exports & International Operations** - Oversee all export-related transactions, documentation, filings, and compliances. - Structure order flows across geographies in a tax-efficient manner. - Ensure proper accounting treatment of cross-border transactions and transfer pricing. - **Financial Planning, Working Capital & Banking** - Forecast cash flows, track burn, and manage working capital. - Build and streamline working capital lines and banking facilities. - Prepare MIS dashboards for management with actionable insights. - **Systems, Processes & Scale** - Implement scalable systems and tools for accounting and consolidation. - Build reports for faster decision-making. - **Stakeholder Management & Due Diligence** - Act as a single point of contact for external partners. - Prepare and manage investor and lender due diligence data rooms. - Work closely with founders and the board on strategic finance topics. **What Success Looks Like in 12-18 Months:** - Core accounting moved in-house with a capable team. - Strong internal controls and SOPs documented and followed. - Streamlined working capital lines and banking relationships. - Smooth exports and compliant cross-border transactions. - Strategic finance function providing proactive insights. **Ideal Candidate Profile:** **Must-have:** - Qualification: CA / CPA / equivalent. MBA (Finance) is a plus. - Experience: 8-15 years in finance & controllership roles. - Exposure to F&B / FMCG / CPG companies. - Hands-on exports experience and strong grounding in accounting and tax. - Experience in building or leading a small finance team. - Prior involvement in fundraise and due diligence. **Nice-to-have:** - Experience with multi-entity structures and working capital optimization. - Experience in early-stage or growth-stage startups.
