Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of tank gauging systems. This position requires a deep understanding of tank gauging principles and hands-on experience with related instrumentation.

Role & responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation of tank gauging systems and related equipment.
  • Conduct functional checks to ensure proper operation of gauging instruments.
  • Perform commissioning activities, including calibration and validation of measurement systems.
  • Evaluate existing tank gauging systems and propose enhancements to optimize performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to tank gauging instrumentation.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, including test plans, reports, and compliance records.
  • Develop and issue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tank gauging operations.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, contractors, and project managers to ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
  • Provide technical support and training to operational staff regarding tank gauging systems.
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.
  • Familiarity with different types of tank gauging technologies such as radar-based, magneto strictive, and hydrostatic pressure measurement, and their operational mechanisms.
  • Understanding the principles of level measurement, density, and volume calculations pertinent to liquid storage tanks.
  • Knowledge of calibration procedures for various gauging devices ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Expertise in safety protocols associated with the handling of hazardous materials stored in tanks and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of tank gauging principles and technologies (e.g., radar, servo, float systems).
  • Experience with calibration and validation of gauging equipment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, data acquisition, and reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in software tools used for tank gauging data analysis and reporting.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in tank gauging systems or related fields.
  • Relevant certifications in instrumentation is an advantage.
