Field Assistant Trainee

Position Summary: The Field Assistant Trainee in the finance department will support the management and operations of group loan programs by assisting in the collection, monitoring, and documentation of loan transactions. The role will involve working directly with clients, facilitating communication, providing basic financial education, and ensuring the smooth implementation of group loan schemes. This position will provide valuable hands-on experience in financial services, loan management, and customer relationship building within community-based finance structures. Key Responsibilities: Loan Monitoring & Repayment Collection: Assist in tracking loan disbursements and monitoring repayment schedules. Support field staff in collecting repayments from borrowers and ensuring timely payment. Conduct follow-up visits to borrowers who are behind on their payments, providing assistance and guidance where necessary. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with loan groups and community members. Serve as the primary point of contact for group members, addressing any questions or concerns regarding loan terms, repayment schedules, or financial literacy. Field Data Collection: Assist in gathering relevant data and documentation for new loan applications. Ensure the accurate recording of loan details, borrower information, and repayment history. Financial Education: Support financial literacy initiatives by assisting in the delivery of training and educational materials to loan groups, helping them understand the importance of financial discipline, loan repayment, and savings. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular reports on loan activities, including updates on repayment status, group attendance, and any challenges faced in the field. Maintain accurate records of loan applications, approvals, repayments, and other financial transactions. Field Visits & Client Support: Conduct regular field visits to loan groups to assess loan usage, verify the status of loans, and ensure compliance with the loan agreement. Assist clients in resolving any issues related to loans, including repayment issues or understanding loan terms. Team Support: Collaborate with the finance team to ensure smooth operations of loan disbursement and collection processes. Assist senior staff members in various tasks related to loan management and other administrative functions. Travel & Flexibility: Willingness to travel within assigned regions for field visits and borrower interactions. Flexible working hours to accommodate the schedules of loan group meetings and field tasks. Required Skills & Qualifications: Basic understanding of financial concepts and group loan structures. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Willingness to travel to field locations and work in rural or remote areas. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills, including knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software. A proactive and flexible attitude toward problem-solving. Educational Requirements: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A background in finance, economics, or a related field is a plus.
