FFS Machine Operator cum Packaging Supervisor

Reports To - Production Manager / Plant Manager

Job Purpose

To operate and maintain FFS packaging machines efficiently while supervising packaging operations to ensure accurate, hygienic, and timely packing of flour products as per quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

A. FFS Machine Operation Cum Packaging Supervision

• Operate FFS machines for packing flour in various pack sizes (e.g., 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 25 kg, etc.).
• Set machine parameters (weight, sealing temperature, speed) as per product specifications.
• Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover activities efficiently.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure smooth, uninterrupted operation.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance team for major breakdowns.
• Ensure accurate weight control and minimize product wastage.
• Supervise packaging staff and helpers on shift.
• Allocate duties and ensure adequate manpower for packaging operations.
• Monitor packing speed, output, and adherence to production targets.
• Ensure correct labeling, batch coding, and date printing.
• Verify proper sealing, stitching (if applicable), and bag quality.
• Maintain packaging material inventory (bags, rolls, ink, cartons).
• Reduce rework, leakage, and rejection rates.

C. Quality & Food Safety

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (FSSAI / ISO / HACCP / GMP).
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of machines and packaging area.
• Follow SOPs for product handling and contamination prevention.
• Conduct routine checks for weight accuracy, seal integrity, and appearance.
• Record and report quality deviations to QA department.

D. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production and packaging records.
• Record machine downtime, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
• Update batch-wise packaging reports.
• Assist in audits and inspections (internal and external).

Qualifications & Skills (Educational Qualification)

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant field
• Minimum: High School / Technical certification preferred

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of FFS machine operation and basic maintenance
• Understanding of weighing systems and sensors
• Familiarity with food-grade packaging materials

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
