Job Description

Leading FEA team on structural analysis of Rail vehicle, Bogies and sub-assemblies. Primary role is to take and manage the work packages on structural assessments (using both manual and Finite Element methods) on rail vehicle car bodies and bogies. The role will not only include carrying out structural analysis, but also recommendation of the designs changes and improvements to meet the structural and functional requirements of the products. The role will also include mentoring the juniors/ team members on executing the work packages and communicating the progress and results to the customers

Required Skills

Guide the team members with technical in executing the projects
Train the juniors in rail domain for FEA
Communicate with customers with respect project scope understanding and technical queries
Evaluating the calculated results, writing and reviewing the FEA reports
Evaluating supplier calculations & test results
Manage and mentor the team
Estimating & scheduling the work packages and preparing the proposal
Assign the work to the team members
Manage the projects/deliverables with respect to quality & schedule
Experience of Finite Element analysis package, such as Altair Hyperworks, Patran/Nastran, including both linear and non-linear assessments
Experience of Rail domain would be advantage
Understanding of Structural Mechanics and the fundamentals of Fatigue assessment methods
Good knowledge on Rail standards, EN15663, EN12663, EN13749, IEC 61373 EN15085-3 and VDI2230
Should be able to provide recommendations/solutions to the design
Team management experience required
Good understanding on Project Management process
Willingness to develop a wide range of skills and flexibility to work on variety of projects which require different engineering skills
Results driven individual with good flexibility skills
Ability to define and manage priorities within deadlines
Problem solving skills
Good communication and presentation skills

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar related degree
