Job Description

We are looking for a textile designer for a Domestic clothing Brand. This role involves a combination of creative design, trend research, and collaboration with production teams to ensure the designs are both aesthetically compelling and manufacturable. Key Responsibilities Develop unique textile designs, prints, and patterns fitting brand aesthetics and seasonal themes. Use software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create and modify designs, including repeats for fabric production. Collaborate with fashion designers, merchandisers, and production teams to ensure the designs meet technical, quality, and cost requirements. Oversee the approval process for weaving, printing, and lab dip samples with mills and suppliers. Stay updated on global textile and fashion trends, conducting market research and attending trade shows. Participate in presentations for sales meetings and market weeks, sometimes assisting with product display and buyer interactions. Manage color palette creation and ensure seasonal color alignment across fabric designs. Innovate by exploring new textile techniques, materials, and printing technologies. Required Skills and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related fields. Strong knowledge of color theory, fabric types, and print production processes. Technical ability to prepare and modify textile designs for production. Good communication and organizational skills to work with cross-functional teams and vendors. Experience in trend forecasting and market analysis. Typically, 3-5 years of industry experience in textile design for apparel is preferred. Additional AttributesArtistic sensibility and a sharp eye for color, texture, and pattern. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Adaptability to collaborate with technical and creative teams for product development. Understanding of sustainable textile practices is advantageous. This role is pivotal in aligning the visual and tactile elements of fabric design with the brand's identity and market demands, ensuring the clothing produced resonates well with consumers.
