Fashion Designer

Position: Head of Department – Fashion & Apparel Design
Location: Cindrebay School of Design, Calicut (Kerala)
Industry: Design Education / Fashion & Apparel Design
Monthly Salary: ₹60,000 – ₹90,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced academic leader to head our Fashion & Apparel Design department at Cindrebay Calicut. The ideal candidate should bring a blend of creative energy, academic excellence, and team management skills to lead the department and inspire a new generation of fashion professionals. This is a key leadership role that requires balancing academic vision with operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Leadership
• Oversee curriculum delivery across all Fashion Design programs (Diploma, Certificate, Advanced Programs).
• Ensure academic rigor, innovation, and alignment with industry trends.
• Guide syllabus planning, content enrichment, and program upgradation.
• Faculty Management
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of faculty and visiting professionals.
• Organize periodic faculty training and encourage collaborative teaching methodologies.
• Student Engagement & Mentoring
• Ensure high standards in student learning outcomes.
• Act as a mentor and guide for students—particularly during final projects, exhibitions, and internships.
• Industry Linkages & Guest Sessions
• Establish and maintain connections with fashion houses, garment exporters, stylists, and influencers.
• Coordinate industry visits, expert talks, and fashion shows or styling workshops.
• Administration & Reporting
• Collaborate with academic heads and management to meet institutional goals.
• Maintain academic calendars, timetables, and student progress reports.
• Prepare departmental reports, review course performance, and recommend improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Fashion Design/Apparel Design/Textile Design from a reputed institution.
• Experience: Minimum 6–15 years of academic and industry experience in fashion or related fields, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or HoD-level role.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D, etc.)
• Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage people and processes efficiently
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English
• Location Preference: Candidates from Calicut (Kozhikode) Kerala or nearby areas preferred
