Farm Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Animal Care:Monitor the health, nutrition, and overall welfare of dairy cows, implementing preventative measures and treating illnesses and injuries.
• Operations Management:Supervise daily activities related to milking, breeding, calf care, and general farm upkeep.
• Staff Management:Assign tasks to farm workers, provide training, monitor performance, and potentially recruit and manage staff in larger operations.
• Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records for feed and milk production, genetic and health information, and farm operations.
• Quality Control:Oversee the milking process and ensure adherence to hygiene and sanitation protocols, monitoring milk yield and quality.
• Maintenance:Inspect and maintain farm equipment, barns, and milking parlors, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
• Production Planning:Study and implement feed formulas, develop schedules for breeding and calving, and coordinate with veterinary professionals.
• Compliance:Ensure operations comply with established standards, industry regulations, and best practices in animal husbandry and farm safety.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Dairy Expertise:In-depth knowledge of dairy herd management, including feeding, milking, breeding, and calf care.
• Farm Management:Understanding of farm operations, animal husbandry, soils, crops, and equipment.
• Technical Skills:Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with farm machinery, tools, and potential welding equipment.
• Communication:Strong reading, writing, and communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
• Analytical Skills:Ability to study records, calculate, and develop strategies for continuous improvement and optimized production.
• Leadership & Organization:Skills in planning, prioritizing, organizing, and managing a team of workers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 per month
