Role Overview

The Farm Supervisor at Nisarga Farms will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day farm operations, ensuring smooth execution of agricultural activities, managing farm workers, and maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and farm hygiene. The role requires on-site presence and hands-on involvement across farming processes and coordination with workers and management. Early morning start times and weekend work may be required based on seasonal demands.

Key Responsibilities

Farm Operations

• Oversee daily field activities including planting, irrigation, fertilizing, and harvesting.
• Monitor crop growth, soil health, and overall farm conditions.
• Maintenance of farm equipments and ensure timely servicing and repairs.
• Plan and coordinate seasonal farm activities as per crop cycles.

Team Management

• Supervise farm workers, assign tasks, monitor attendance and productivity.
• Train workers on farm practices, safety procedures, and use of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with labour policies and on-farm protocols.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure farm hygiene, biosecurity, and safety standards are consistently followed.
• Monitor quality of inputs (seeds, feed, fertilizers, organic materials) and outputs.
• Maintain records of farming activities, pesticide usage, yields, and inventories.
• Track license renewals, vaccinations, tax payments etc

Resource Management

• Manage inventory of seeds, fertilizers, tools, and other consumables.
• Optimize use of water, electricity, and other farm resources.
• Coordinate procurement of farm supplies in consultation with management.

Financial and Reporting Duties

• Maintain farm accounts, expenses, sales, worker wages.
• Apply and follow up government schemes
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on operations, labour, input usage, and crop status.

Sales and Value Addition

• Sell produce either to local merchants, cooperatives, or directly in markets.
• Explore value added products (eg. virgin coconut oil, coconut chips, spice powders, banana figs, etc)

Liaison and Compliance

• Regular interaction with Krishi Bhavan officers, local panchayat, veterinary hospital, banks.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, pollution control, food safety standards.

Marketing and Social Media

• Manage social media handles and support marketing activities

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field
• 0–3 years of experience in farm operations or supervisory roles (preferred)
• Experience with organic farming or sustainable practices (an advantage)
• Good understanding of crop management, irrigation systems, and farm machinery.
• Basic record-keeping and reporting skills (manual or digital).
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
• Physical ability and willingness to work outdoors
• Fluency in Malayalam (required) and English (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
