Fabric Inspection Manager

Job Title: Inspection Manager – Fabric Division

Location: Pranera Textiles, Tiruppur
Department: Quality & Fabric DivisionReporting to: Head – Quality/Operations ManagerExperience: 4–10 Years in Fabric Quality Control / InspectionQualification: Diploma/Degree in Textile Technology or related field

Job Purpose:

To ensure thorough inspection, evaluation, and approval of incoming and in-process fabrics as per company quality standards, minimizing defects and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabric Inspection & Quality Control:

• Lead the fabric inspection process using 4-Point System and company-specific standards.
• Identify and document defects, measure GSM, shrinkage, shade variation, and other key parameters.
• Ensure proper handling of grey and finished fabrics for bulk orders and samples.

Team Management:

• Supervise a team of fabric inspectors and quality staff.
• Conduct training sessions to ensure team awareness on fabric types, defects, and updated quality parameters.

Process Coordination:

• Liaise with Purchase, Knitting, Dyeing, and Finishing teams to monitor fabric movement and quality checkpoints.
• Coordinate with the Merchandising and Production teams regarding fabric approvals and rejections.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports and rejection logs
• Document inspection findings and communicate critical quality issues to management.

Vendor Interaction:

• Communicate with suppliers/mills regarding fabric rejections and follow-up for replacements or corrections.
• Conduct periodic mill visits for source-level quality control, if required.

Compliance & Standards:

• Ensure compliance with internal standards, buyer specifications, and testing protocols.
• Support audit processes (buyer/third-party) with inspection-related documentation.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of knitted and woven fabric types, defects, and inspection techniques.
• Expertise in 4-Point Inspection System and other fabric evaluation methods.
• Leadership and team management ability.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Proficient in using MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems (preferred).
