Exterior Engineer

As an Exterior Engineer, your role involves being a decision-making responsible person with leadership skills to deliver the Commodity with defined Attributes, Cost, and Timing, by managing Commodity, Process, Suppliers, and all other stakeholders & Cross-functional team. Key Responsibilities: - Possess good knowledge of Product Design, of Exterior Components like Bumpers and Grills & their Materials, Manufacturing Process & Tooling Concepts. - Understand Exterior Regulations & Packaging Requirements. - Establish a teamwork plan & define the priority of work. - Utilize experience in Quality Control tools like GD&T DVA, DVP, DFMEA, PPIR. - Ensure sub-system meets attribute requirements such as Durability, Thermal, Weight, Cost, etc. - Support vehicle launch and pre-production builds. - Assist in Prototype part Delivery to confirm Assembly Function or Commodity Validation. - Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams across international locations. - Hands-on Experience on Catia V5/V6 & Team Centre. - Knowledge of Problem-solving Techniques, Root cause analysis will be preferred. - Experience in Supplier management like APQP documents, Cost & timing Reviews will be preferred. - Experience in Carbon Fiber and OEM to lead the commodity will be an added advantage. Additional Details: - Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service. - Demonstrates and fosters a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals. - Identifies and analyses information to make decisions and solve problems. Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 4 years of automotive product engineering experience required specifically in automotive Exterior trims bumpers and Grills. - Proven project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery in line with time, Cost, quality & attribute targets. - Proven experience in the development and/or integration of at least one and preferably more Exterior Components like Bumpers, Grilles, etc. - Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements. - Liaise with supplier, Manufacturing, CAE & Validation Teams. - CAD Literacy: Ability to generate CAD data and Master sections in CATIA V5/V6. - Significant experience in the use of engineering tools FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution, etc. - Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector. Skills Required: - Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, adapting style to suit different audiences. - In-depth functional knowledge of Bumpers system. - CAD Literacy: Ability to generate CAD data and Master sections in CATIA V5/V6. - PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word, etc. - Analytical, logical, and critical thinking ability. Qualification: - BE/B. Tech in Mechanical/Production/ Automotive Engineering.,
