ETL Test Engineer

As an ETL Test Engineer at our company, your role will involve validating ETL workflows, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and executing test plans, test scripts, and test cases for ETL processes and data pipelines. - Validating data transformations, data flows, source-to-target mappings, and business rules. - Performing data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. - Identifying, logging, and tracking defects, and working with development teams for issue resolution. - Conducting root cause analysis and supporting defect resolution. - Collaborating closely with Data Engineers, Developers, and Analysts to understand data and business requirements. - Preparing and maintaining testing documentation including test results, issue logs, and test summary reports. - Evaluating and recommending improvements in ETL processes for enhanced data quality. - Working with large datasets, SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for validation. - Participating in SIT, UAT, and regression testing activities. Qualifications required for this role are: - 3-6 years of experience in ETL/Data Warehouse testing. - Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and data modeling. - Hands-on experience with relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL. - Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS), reporting tools (e.g., SSRS), and SQL debugging. - Expertise in writing complex SQL queries for data validation and analysis. - Experience in manual testing and automation frameworks for ETL testing. - Good knowledge of defect management and version control tools such as JIRA and Git. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Excellent communication and documentation skills.
