Estimation & Costing / Tendering Engineer - Factory Interiors & MEP

Role & responsibilities

As our Estimation & Costing / Tendering Engineer, you will be a critical strategic force in our project acquisition and planning phase. You will be responsible for meticulously analyzing project requirements to develop highly accurate and competitive cost estimates for factory interior and MEP projects. Your expertise will directly influence our ability to secure profitable contracts and lay the foundation for successful project execution.

Your key responsibilities will encompass:

• Strategic Estimation & Cost Analysis:

• Drive the entire estimation process

  by preparing detailed preliminary and final cost estimates for complex industrial projects, including factory interiors, MEP, HVAC, utilities, and networking.

• Perform in-depth analysis

  of design drawings, technical specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs) to calculate precise material, labor, and equipment requirements.

• Champion cost optimization

  by identifying and recommending value engineering alternatives that reduce expenses without compromising on quality or safety standards.

• Develop and maintain a robust database

  of historical costs, benchmarking data, and supplier rates to enhance the accuracy and speed of future estimates.

• Tendering & Bid Management:

• Orchestrate the complete tendering lifecycle

  , from preparing comprehensive technical and commercial proposals to ensuring timely and compliant submissions.

• Lead the evaluation of vendor quotations

  and subcontractor bids, performing a thorough analysis to select the most cost-effective and reliable partners for inclusion in our final tender.

• Spearhead negotiations

  with clients, vendors, and partners to finalize contract terms, pricing, and scope, securing the best possible outcomes for the organization.

• Manage a centralized tracking system

  for all ongoing tenders, meticulously monitoring bid status, deadlines, and follow-ups to ensure a high win ratio.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting:

• Serve as the key cost consultant

  for project management and design teams, providing crucial data for budget allocation and initial project planning.

• Analyze the financial impact

  of change orders and scope modifications, providing clear recommendations to project leadership.

• Prepare and present insightful reports

  on tender status, awarded projects, and market cost trends to senior management, informing strategic business decisions.

Preferred candidate profile

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven professional with a proven track record in the estimation and tendering of industrial projects. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

• Experience:

• A minimum of

  5-10 years of dedicated experience

  in an estimation, costing, and tendering role within the construction or engineering industry.

• Hands-on experience is essential

  MEP systems, HVAC, factory interior fit-outs, electrical, utilities, and networking projects in an industrial/factory environment.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in a competitive bidding environment.

• Education:

• Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A postgraduate certification in Project Management or Quantity Surveying would be a significant advantage.

• Technical & Soft Skills:
