Estimation and Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Estimation Duties:

Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.

Conduct quantity take-offs and determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.

Liaise with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand scope and specifications.

Source and validate pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.

Develop and maintain cost databases and benchmarking tools.

Prepare and submit bids and tenders within deadlines.

Track changes in design or scope and adjust estimates accordingly.

Purchasing Duties:

Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors for materials, equipment, and services.

Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery in line with project timelines.

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid project delays or overstocking.

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers for long-term procurement advantages.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies, cost targets, and quality standards.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong analytical and mathematical skills

Excellent negotiation and communication abilities

Solid understanding of construction/project estimation and procurement processes

Proficiency in estimation software .

Time management and ability to handle multiple projects under pressure

Attention to detail and organizational skills

Track purchase costs and analyze trends to optimize future buying strategies.

Resolve supply chain issues such as delays, non-conformance, or pricing disputes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or related field

Minimum 0 - 1 years of experience in estimation and/or purchasing roles

Proven track record in managing budgets and vendor relationships
