Job Description

EHS Manager

Your responsibilities will be to:

EHS Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and update EHS regulations to ensure continuous compliance with applicable laws.
  • Support Group and Business Units (BUs) in ensuring all employees, visitors, contractors, and suppliers adhere to EHS policies.
  • Conduct job risk assessments and walk-through audits to identify unsafe behaviors and substandard conditions.
  • Recommend corrective actions with defined timelines and follow through on implementation.
  • Investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences, and fire incidents; determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Maintain systems for recording, reporting, and investigating injuries and incidents.
  • Provide statistical summaries and trend analyses for management review.
  • Deliver EHS training to employees and BU leadership to foster awareness and vigilance.
  • Ensure workplace conditions meet EHS standards.
  • Advise Operations, Maintenance, and Facility teams on machine and equipment safety.
  • Participate in EHS compliance and management system audits to ensure alignment with local, national, and corporate standards.

ESG Responsibilities:

  • Lead ESG initiatives in alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Develop and implement ESG policies and programs across environmental, social, and governance domains.
  • Monitor ESG performance metrics and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into business operations.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and community stakeholders to promote ESG transparency and accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sustainability practices, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible sourcing.

Our requirements:

  • 1520 years of experience in EHS management, with exposure to greenfield projects.
  • Qualification: M.Tech / M.E in Industrial Safety Engineering from an institution recognized by the Tamil Nadu State Government; proficiency in Tamil is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 standards and other relevant frameworks.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance and external audits.
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) is a plus

Knowledge / Skills

  • In-depth understanding of OSHA and other applicable EHS standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to develop and implement EHS and ESG policies and training programs.
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable working independently or in team settings.
  • Resilience under pressure and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Able to work well in a team environment or independently.
