About the Role

New Product Development (NPD)

This is a zero-to-one role where you’ll work directly with the founders to identify new pain categories, validate demand, run rapid experiments, and take products from idea → prototype → launch → scale.

If you enjoy building things from scratch, solving user problems deeply, and operating at the intersection of product, research, and growth - this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer & Market Insights

  • Identify gaps, pain points, and high-potential product opportunities in posture, recovery, lifestyle, and pain care
  • Conduct user interviews, surveys, competitor benchmarking, and category research
  • Analyse market trends, price points, consumer behaviours, and unmet needs

2. Product Development & Prototyping

  • Translate insights into clear product concepts and feature requirements
  • Work with external manufacturers, designers, and internal teams to develop product prototypes
  • Build and iterate quick prototypes for early validation
  • Manage testing cycles, quality checks, and performance benchmarks

3. Validation & Experiments

  • Design and run rapid pilots to validate product-market fit
  • Evaluate demand through small-batch launches, landing pages, sampling, and pre-orders
  • Track early user feedback, adoption, and repeat rates
  • Kill ideas fast when needed; double down on winners

4. Launch & Scale

  • Build GTM plans in coordination with marketing and growth teams
  • Work on pricing, positioning, packaging, and differentiation
  • Prepare the product for full-scale launch — supply, certifications, communication, and rollout
  • Hand off successful products to growth, brand, and operations teams

5. Cross-functional Leadership

  • Work directly with founders on NPD roadmap and monthly progress
  • Collaborate across ops, design, marketing, performance, and marketplace teams
  • Create internal documentation, SOPs, and playbooks for each product

Eligibility Criteria

  • 1–5 years of experience in D2C, product development, category management, or early-stage startup roles
  • Strong bias for action and comfort with ambiguity
  • Ability to take ownership of end-to-end projects with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable talking to users, running experiments, and working hands-on
  • Ability to coordinate vendors, designers, and manufacturers
  • Must be Bangalore-based and able to work on-site, 6 days a week
  • Bonus: experience in health, wellness, or consumer physical products

What You’ll Get

  • The opportunity to build Betterhood’s next product lines from the ground up
  • Direct mentorship and ownership alongside founders
  • Rapid learning curve with exposure across product, supply, brand, and growth
  • High autonomy in shaping new categories, innovation, and 0–1 decisions
  • Competitive salary + performance incentives
  • A young, fast-paced environment where ideas move from concept to reality quickly
