The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a group of engineers in the design, development, and optimization of products aimed at enhancing production, efficiency, safety, and sustainability. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product strategies, set priorities for engineering execution, drive innovation, and ensure the successful delivery of programs/solutions within the Production Automation vertically covering the Artificial Lift and Industrial Automation product lines.
Required Skills:
- With 12- 15 years of experience in overseeing project management and architecture, development, optimization of embedded firmware, middleware, and system software.
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or a similar discipline. PMP certified
- Proven experience in PLC, RTU, IoT devices, and SCADA systems, including design, development, implementation, and maintenance. Ability to understand P&ID s I/O lists and engineering drawings (GA/BOM, Schematics etc).
- Strong technical skills in PLC programming, SCADA software, RTU communication protocols (e.g., DNP3, IEC 104, Modbus), and related technologies.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Extensive experience in Industrial Automation and controls, project management, engineering, or technical leadership roles.
- Proven record of successfully managing and executing projects in a highly technical and regulated environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.

Product Strategy and Planning:
- Assist the product manager(s) in the development and execution of the product line strategy aligned with business objectives, and market demands.
- Act as an interface between product line management and engineering to prioritize projects and tasks that best align with the product line strategy.
- Identify opportunities, and technical debt and inform the product line to add it to the product roadmap.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features, enhancements, and new product development initiatives.
Product Development:
- Lead a team of engineers, external partner project teams and product specialists (internal resources and engineering partners) in the design, development, and testing of new products and solutions.
- Assist in the definition of product requirements, specifications, and performance metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage projects using Project Central that cover the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, including product validation, pilot testing, and commercialization.
Project Management:
- Develop and execute project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical, operational, and commercial risks associated with automation projects, ensuring robust contingency plans are in place.
- Assist with project procurement, scope of work definition, PO creation, and approval of invoices when deliverables are received.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with GPLM, Engineering Leadership, Operations, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure seamless execution of product development projects.
- Provide technical expertise and support to field engineers, sales, and customer service teams during product demonstrations, and client engagements.
- Assist the GPLM / Regional operations teams with customer order support activities (RFP/RFQ/RFI) like technical proposals, technical clarifications, etc.
- Assist the product managers with product-sustaining activities like bug fixes, new features, etc, and create control definition, control system architecture, etc. for generic controllers & application specific controllers when applicable.
