Job Objective:

An Engineering Manager will bring technical thought leadership, resolving complex problems, while working in collaboration with Product and Technology leaders to create and implement end to end execution and delivery of products that solve business challenges.

Job Description:

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

Build and lead a team of engineers to create robust, scalable and high quality solutions

Collaborate with product and technology teams to solve complex problems

Define best technology practices & ensure compliance

Communicate design and test impact based on business requirements

Understand business requirements, formulate use cases and come up with effective solutions

Research and evaluate technologies and solutions to determine solution design options and trade offs

Able to lead the development cycle and ensure delivery of highly secure solutions that are optimized for performance and built to scale

Able to engineer complex features / systems from scratch and drive it to completion

Apply best-practices and coding patterns that ensure solutions are maintainable, modular, and of high code-quality

Be responsible to hire, develop and retain a high performing team of engineers.

Required Skills:

8-11 years of experience with a consumer internet/ e-commerce organization

Deep understanding and prior hands-on experience of back-end technologies like Java & SQL

Should be well versed with emerging technology(GenAI), design and architectural concepts

Expertise in effective planning and prioritization of projects to create an environment where randomization is either absent or extremely minimized.

Should have experience in leading and managing performance of a team of 3-4 engineers

Able to break complex projects into modules and propose effective solutions in view of capabilities of existing platforms and infrastructure.

Should have prior experience in microservices and event driven architecture

Desired Skills:

Ability to think and analyze both breadth-wise (client, server, DB, control flow) and depth-wise (threads, sessions, space-time complexity) while designing and implementing services

Experience with high performance & high scale applications

Good knowledge of multiple data storage systems
