With a strong focus on cloud-driven network management and automation, we are expanding our cloud engineering and backend development capabilities. We are looking for a highly skilled Engineering Manager with strong Cloud Architecture and PHP expertise to lead and scale our engineering team.
Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 1015 cloud engineers, PHP developers, and DevOps resources.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and skill-building initiatives.
- Define engineering workflows, coding standards, and review processes.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of cloud and backend features.
2. Cloud Architecture & Strategy
- Architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions for WiFi controllers, analytics systems, and captive portals.
- Develop cloud adoption frameworks, deployment standards, and governance policies.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies for system enhancements and cost optimization.
- Design hybrid/multi-cloud strategies aligned with product goals.
3. PHP Backend Design & Development Oversight
- Lead design and review of scalable PHP-based APIs, services, and backend modules.
- Optimize application logic, database structure, and cloud-based deployments.
- Ensure seamless integration of PHP systems with microservices, containers, and cloud environments.
- Oversee backend development for captive portals, management dashboards, and authentication flows.
4. Customer Interaction & Technical Engagement
- Engage directly with enterprise customers, ISPs, system integrators, and channel partners for:
- Requirement gathering and technical understanding
- Product demonstrations and solution walkthroughs
- Cloud deployment guidance and architectural recommendations
- Troubleshooting complex cloud or backend-related issues
- Collaborate with customers to validate use cases and identify improvement areas.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for customer-facing teams (Sales, Support, PMO).
- Translate customer feedback into actionable engineering tasks and product enhancements.
5. Cloud Deployment, Web Server & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee cloud deployments using AWS/Azure/GCP ensuring reliability and scale.
- Manage Nginx/Apache configurations for high-traffic network operations.
- Guide Infrastructure-as-Code implementations (Terraform/CloudFormation/ARM).
- Strengthen CI/CD processes for pipeline efficiency and release stability.
6. Optimization, Monitoring & Cost Management
- Monitor system performance, cloud usage, and application health.
- Implement performance optimization strategies for PHP applications and cloud services.
- Establish dashboards, alerts, and monitoring mechanisms for proactive operations.
- Plan capacity for scaling cloud workloads during peak WiFi device utilization.
7. Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Design secure cloud architectures aligned with ISO 27001, GDPR, and industry standards.
- Ensure secure Nginx/Apache configurations, SSL/TLS setup, and security patches.
- Conduct cloud security assessments and implement remediation plans.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Management, QA, Support, and Networking teams for aligned delivery.
- Participate in customer calls, tech discussions, and PoC deployments.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth product releases.
- Act as a bridge between engineering teams and customer-facing teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in cloud engineering and backend development with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong expertise in
PHP
(Laravel/Symfony/custom frameworks) and backend API development. - Proven hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Proficiency with Nginx and Apache in high-availability environments.
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing) relevant to WiFi systems.
- Experience with CI/CD, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), microservices, and distributed architecture.
- Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Strong cloud security and compliance knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, including customer-facing interaction experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to client-facing technical roles and solution engineering.
- Knowledge of WiFi technologies (802.11 standards, RADIUS, captive portal workflows).
