Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of engineers for design and development of Rail/Locomotive products.
Guide preparation of drawings, specifications, and documents for customer approvals.
Collaborate with project management, purchase, quality, and workshop teams for smooth project execution.
Support sales & marketing in spare parts orders, service support, and customer technical discussions.
Plan and implement product specification changes in line with global standards.
Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and cost reduction projects.
Balance team management (50%) with individual technical contributions (50%).

Skills & Qualifications:

Strong leadership and team management skills.
Hands-on experience in gearbox/coupler design and engineering execution.
Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate / Post Graduate in Mechanical Engineering

20 years in the Rail domain with

Knowledge of DFMEA
Knowledge of DFSS and DTC
Knowledge of Materials like Carbon steel
Knowledge of Heat Treatment processes, Forgings and Castings
Design of possible solutions
