Engineer-Streaming operations

To manage daily streaming operations, including live channel monitoring across Cable, IPTV, and OTT platforms; handling feed management and encoder-level troubleshooting to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. The role also involves adhering to regulatory standards, monitoring and ensuring reliable signal delivery through the CDN, and coordinating closely with the network operations team.

a) : Technical Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of CATV,IPTV Headend equipment and technologies
• Familiarity with test equipment for Headend systems (MPEG, AC-3, Multicast Video, etc.).
• Streaming Protocols: HLS, DASH, RTMP, RTP, UDP, SRT
• Encoders & Transcoders: Ateme, Harmonic etc
• CDN Management
• DRM & CAS Systems
• Network & System Knowledge: IP networking, multicast/unicast, DNS, proxy, load balancing
• Monitoring Tools: NMS, Grafana, Prometheus, or Zabbix for stream and server health checks
• OS & Server Skills: Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows Server
• Video Standards: MPEG-2, H.264, H.265/HEVC, HD/SD/4K workflows
• Troubleshooting: Encoder errors, stream buffering, bitrate issues, and latency optimization
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Collaborate with other engineers and venders

c) Specify key responsibilities:

· Manage daily streaming operations for Cable, IPTV, and OTT platforms.

· Monitor live channels, VOD streams, and signal health to ensure uninterrupted service.

· Handle encoder/transcoder configurations, troubleshooting, and stream optimization.

· Coordinate with Headend, NOC, and Network Operations teams for issue resolution.

· Oversee CDN delivery, latency, and caching performance to maintain quality of service.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory and content delivery standards.

· Maintain and update DRM, Proxy, and Middleware systems as required.

· Support OTA (Over-the-Air) and software update processes for STBs and apps.

· Analyze streaming performance, generate daily operational reports, and suggest improvements.

1. CANDIDATE PROFILE:

a) Basic Educational qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics & communications, or related field preferred. Engineering diploma in Electronics & communications Engineering or equivalent with relevant experience may be considered.

b) Professional Qualification: CCNA, CCNP

c) No. of years of Experience: 2-5 years
