Overview

  • We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Senior Staff Engineer / Manager – WLAN Test to lead and scale our Automotive connectivity testing team. This role involves driving test strategy, execution, and quality assurance for WLAN features across multiple platforms and products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Wi-Fi technologies, proven leadership experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality wireless solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of WLAN test engineers across functional, automation, and system testing domains for the automotive connectivity test group.
  • Define and drive test strategies for WLAN features including MLO, 802.11ax/be, P2P, WLAN/BT/LTE co-ex, automotive use case, and power/performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, program management, customer engineering) to align on test plans, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality validation of software releases across automotive platforms.
  • Mentor and grow team members into technical and leadership roles.
  • Drive automation coverage and test infrastructure improvements to scale validation efforts.
  • Support customer issue triaging and resolution with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Track and report test metrics, execution status, and quality KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Electronics, or related field.
  • 14+ years of experience in WLAN testing, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of Wi-Fi protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), RF fundamentals, and test methodologies.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks, scripting (C++, Python preferred), and tools like Wireshark, iPerf, and sniffer logs.
  • Proven track record of managing complex test programs and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication, people management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Automotive, Mobile, XR, or IoT WLAN testing.
  • Familiarity with certification processes (WFA, FCC, CE).
  • Exposure to automotive test infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working with global teams and managing vendor/partner relationships.
