Engineer / Senior Engineer – Quality Metallurgy (QA/QC)

The Engineer / Senior Engineer – Quality Metallurgy will be responsible for ensuring metallurgical quality compliance through effective QA/QC practices across raw materials, in-process stages, and finished products. The role supports production and quality teams to maintain high-quality standards as per customer and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out

  QA/QC activities related to metallurgy

  for incoming materials, in-process inspections, and final products
• Perform and oversee

  metallurgical tests

  including chemical analysis, mechanical testing, hardness testing, and microstructure examination
• Verify

  Material Test Certificates (MTCs)

  and ensure compliance with applicable standards (IS, ASTM, ASME, etc.)
• Prepare and maintain

  Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

  and quality checklists
• Identify, report, and assist in closing

  non-conformances (NCs)

  through root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and stores for material quality issues
• Support

  customer, third-party, and internal inspections/audits

• Maintain calibration status and proper handling of laboratory and testing equipment
• Ensure documentation and record-keeping in line with

  ISO 9001 quality systems

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and process quality

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering / Materials Engineering

Experiences & Competencies

• 3–6 years of experience

  in

  QA/QC – Metallurgy

  in manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering industries
• Practical knowledge of

  metallurgical processes, heat treatment, and material behavior

• Hands-on experience with

  quality inspection tools and testing methods

• Understanding of

  quality standards, inspection procedures, and customer specifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills
• Working knowledge of

  MS Office (Excel, Word)

  for reporting
