Engineer - Production (Sheet metal/Fabrication)

Role & responsibilities

1) Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

2) Monitor production metrics, analyze data, and identify opportunities for improvement in productivity and cost reduction.

3) Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues to maintain smooth operations.

4) Provide technical guidance and support to production personnel, including training on new processes and equipment operation.

5) Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies in all production activities.

6) Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and equipment specifications.

Preferred candidate profile

1)  BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

2) Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering roles in sheet metal industry, with a strong emphasis on production processes and optimization.

3) Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.

4) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to process improvement.

5) Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

6) Proven track record of managing projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

7) Proficient in reading engineering drawings.

8) Proficient in using measuring instruments.

9) Basic knowledge of fabrication techniques.

10) Basic understanding of ISO standards.

11) Proficient in handling manpower effectively.

12) Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to enhance safety and reliability.

13) Develop project specifications collaboratively with colleagues, often involving multiple engineering disciplines.

14) Apply new technologies and methodologies in manufacturing to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

15) Ensure compliance of all production equipment and processes with safety standards and regulations.

16) Investigate and troubleshoot any issues related to processes, machinery, and operations.
