Production Shift Supervisor (Stamping AIDA & YADON Machines)

Role Summary

The Production Shift Supervisor oversees stamping operations involving AIDA and YADON presses. The role ensures safe, efficient, and highquality production of stamped components by managing operators, monitoring machine performance, and maintaining compliance with process standards. The supervisor is responsible for shift output, tool changeovers, troubleshooting, and coordination with maintenance and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise stamping operations on AIDA and YADON mechanical/hydraulic presses
• Plan and allocate manpower for press lines, coil feeders, and auxiliary equipment
• Ensure correct die setup, tool changeovers, and firstpiece approval
• Monitor press parameters, stroke rate, tonnage, lubrication, and feed alignment
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding
• Coordinate with tool room for die maintenance, sharpening, and breakdown support
• Work with maintenance to resolve machine stoppages and preventive maintenance needs
• Maintain production logs, downtime records, rejection reports, and shift documentation
• Conduct shift briefings and ensure smooth handover between shifts
• Implement 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives in the press shop
• Ensure quality compliance by working closely with QC inspectors
• Train operators on machine handling, safety, and process discipline

Job Specification

Education

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical, Production, Tool & Die, or Industrial Engineering
• Additional training in stamping technology or press operations is an advantage

Experience

• 3–8 years of experience in stamping/press shop operations
• Hands-on experience with

  AIDA and/or YADON presses

  (mandatory if you want to enforce it)
• Experience in die setting, coil feeding systems, and progressive/compound dies
• Prior supervisory or teamlead experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of stamping processes, tonnage calculations, and press safety
• Knowledge of progressive, compound, and blanking dies
• Ability to identify die wear, burr issues, misfeeds, and alignment problems
• Familiarity with press automation: feeders, decoilers, straighteners
• Understanding of quality tools (SPC, PokaYoke, control plans)
• Basic computer skills (ERP, MS Office)
