The Business Excellence Engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality. The role focuses on implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and Integrated Management principles to achieve manufacturing excellence, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Improvement & Optimization
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, quality losses, and inefficiencies.
- Lead Lean projects targeting yield improvement, cost reduction, and process stabilisation.
- Drive Kaizen events, 5S implementation, and value stream mapping across production areas.
- Standardize work methods and develop SOPs to ensure consistency and repeatability.
2. Quality & Operational Excellence
- Support implementation and sustenance of Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, etc.).
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor and improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) and product quality parameters.
- Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements in production operations.
3. Data-Driven Performance Improvement
- Collect and analyze production, quality, and downtime data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards and KPI tracking systems.
- Use statistical tools (SPC, Pareto, cause-effect analysis) to drive problem-solving and decision-making.
4. Business Excellence Frameworks & Audits
- Plan, conduct & participate in internal and external audits related to IMS and business excellence frameworks.
- Support benchmarking, assessment, and deployment of best practices across manufacturing areas.
- Prepare documentation and presentations for internal evaluations.
5. Culture Building & Change Management
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee involvement at all levels.
- Train and coach shop-floor teams in Lean tools, problem-solving methods, and 5S.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engg, SCM, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, etc.) to drive excellence initiatives.
Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering. -
Certifications (Preferred):
- Lean Six Sigma Green
- ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 Lead Auditor
- Kaizen Practitioner

Experience:
2-5 years in manufacturing operations, process improvement, or business excellence roles.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (DMAIC, RCA, SPC).
- Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM methodologies.
- Proficiency in Excel, Minitab, or data analytics tools for performance analysis.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, fabrication, or packaging.
- Ability to drive and sustain changes on the shop floor.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Cost savings and waste reduction are achieved through improvement projects.
- Productivity and OEE improvements.
- Quality metrics improvement (defect rate, FPY, customer complaints).
