Employment Support Services Associate

Yash Charitable Trust (YCT) was established in 2014 with the vision that neurodivergent adults (those with autism, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, CP and so on) live and work in the community of their choice with dignity and self-respect. To that end, the programs offered by YCT focus on training and providing livelihood opportunities, and other mental health support through therapies and counselling.

YCT is now looking for a dedicated Employment Support Services Associate who understands and embraces the vision and mission of the NGO and implements all operations related to finding internship and employment opportunities for neurodivergent adults who are associated with YCT.

Role Highlights:

• Getting to know the neurodivergent adults through home visits and/or spending time in other places or conversations with other significant people (process of Discovery)
• Teaching neurodiverse adults’ ancillary skills such as traveling, shopping etc.
• Finding employment opportunities for neurodivergent adults in the open markets
• For neurodivergent adults who might avail of open employment opportunities, provide on the job training support as needed
• Working with families of neurodivergent adults through the strength-based approach
• Any other duties as assigned by the management from time to time. This might include photo and video documentation and related activities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have an undergraduate degree in Social Work/Special Education and relevant experience of a year or more
• Basic ability to work with computers and technology: particularly using Google Drive and Excel.

Essential Skills Required:

• Must have good written, verbal and presentation skills (English and a vernacular language)
• Organizational skills, ability to multitask, as well as time management skills
• Willingness to travel
• Willingness to learn and grow within the organisation

Location: Irla (Vile Parle West), Mumbai

Remuneration: The salary and benefits package will be commensurate with the person's experience and qualifications and as per industry standards

Other: A 40-hour work week is expected. The candidate will report to the Lead, Adult Support Kendra at Yash Charitable Trust
