Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • EMI/EMC Design and Testing:

  • Conduct EMI/EMC assessments of products, subsystems, and systems in compliance with military standards.
  • Perform shielding, grounding, and filtering designs to mitigate electromagnetic interference.
  • Develop and implement test plans, test setups, and testing procedures for EMC compliance.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC testing and report results to ensure products meet defense industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, DO-160, etc.).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical engineers, product designers, etc.) to address EMI/EMC issues in the design phase.
  • Troubleshooting and Analysis:

  • Analyze electromagnetic compatibility issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Identify sources of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform diagnostics and resolve EMC-related issues during development and production.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain detailed EMI/EMC test reports, including compliance documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all EMC testing and design work.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with defense and commercial EMC standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with the latest EMI/EMC standards, regulations, and testing techniques.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for EMI/EMC design processes and testing methodologies.
  • Collaboration with Defence and Military Customers:

  • Work with Defence to understand specific EMC requirements for military platforms.
  • Provide support for design reviews, ensuring that EMI/EMC aspects are addressed.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Electronics Engineering, or related field. Specialization in EMI/EMC is highly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in EMI/EMC or RF Engineering are a plus.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of EMI/EMC principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, DO-160, and other defense-related EMC standards.
  • Proficiency in using EMI/EMC test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and anechoic chambers.
  • Experience with simulation tools for EMI/EMC analysis (e.g., CST Studio Suite, Ansys, HFSS).
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic shielding, grounding, and filtering techniques.
  • Experience with military and defense industry standards and requirements.
  • Experience in preparing technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
