Embedded Systems and Test Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an Embedded Systems & Test Engineer to develop firmware and validate electronics for hearing aids (BTE, RIC, CIC). This role combines embedded coding, API integration between Bluetooth and DSP chips, hardware bring-up, and functional testing of PCB prototypes. The DSP algorithms will be provided, but the role requires efficient integration and optimization. The engineer must ensure smooth Classic Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP/HFP) and low-power BLE communication (control/data).

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate firmware for DSP and Bluetooth SoCs (low-power wireless audio).
• Write and optimize low-level drivers for peripherals (I²C, SPI, UART, ADC/DAC, power management).
• Implement and debug APIs for communication between Bluetooth (Classic + BLE) and DSP chips.
• Ensure seamless support for audio streaming over Classic Bluetooth (A2DP/HFP) and control/data via BLE (GATT profiles).
• Optimize firmware for low power operation and real-time performance.
• Debug and validate new PCB prototypes with hardware engineer.
• Design and execute test plans for audio quality, wireless performance, and battery life.
• Automate test setups using Python/Matlab for audio and signal measurements.
• Document test results and failure analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in embedded systems (preferably in audio/low-power devices).
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with Bluetooth stacks, Classic profiles (A2DP/HFP), and BLE profiles (GATT).
• Experience in API integration between multiple ICs (DSP, Bluetooth, sensors).
• Strong debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD tools.
• Familiarity with audio DSP concepts (filtering, compression, gain control) a plus.
• Experience with automated test tools and scripting (Python, Matlab preferred).
