The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PCB design and layout, and the ability to write basic firmware to bring up and test their hardware designs. Key Responsibilities PCB Design & Development (Primary Focus) Design multilayer, rigid-flex PCBs optimized for miniaturized medical devices (hearing aids, charging cases). Convert hardware schematics into high-quality PCB layouts under strict size, power, and thermal constraints. Apply best practices for low-noise, low-power, and high-reliability design, including audio circuits, RF modules, and battery management. Ensure manufacturability (DFM), testability (DFT), and reliability across the design cycle. Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to achieve compact enclosure integration. Firmware Support (Secondary) Write basic firmware for hardware validation and board bring-up. Develop drivers/test code for peripherals (I²C, SPI, GPIO, ADC, sensors, power ICs, charging circuits). Support debugging and validation of new prototypes by combining hardware and firmware insights. Work with embedded software engineers for integration into production firmware. Prototyping & Validation Generate Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings. Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly partners. Perform board bring-up, validation, and debugging using oscilloscopes, analyzers, and power measurement tools. Drive design reviews and incorporate cross-functional feedback. Compliance & Standards Ensure PCBs comply with international medical and electronics standards (IPC, IEC, ISO). Apply EMI/EMC mitigation and ESD protection techniques in design. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience: 5+ years in PCB design, preferably in wearables, consumer electronics, or medical devices. Technical Skills – PCB (Core): Proficiency in PCB CAD tools (Altium Designer, OrCAD, Allegro, or similar). Strong background in miniaturized PCB design: rigid-flex, HDI, fine-pitch, BGAs. Experience with low-power circuits, RF design, wireless charging, and battery management. Technical Skills – Firmware (Secondary): Proficiency in embedded C/C++ for MCUs (ARM Cortex-M or equivalent). Experience writing simple board bring-up/test code for peripherals (I²C, SPI, UART, ADC). Understanding of BLE hardware/firmware integration is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Excellent collaboration with hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams. You’ll work closely with the leadership team, own critical modules, and guide junior developers as we scale our technology. Responsibilities Design and develop Windows desktop applications (WPF/.NET). Architect and implement backend systems and RESTful APIs using .NET Core. Role Overview We are looking for an Embedded Systems & Test Engineer to develop firmware and validate electronics for hearing aids (BTE, RIC, CIC). This role combines embedded coding, API integration between Bluetooth and DSP chips, hardware bring-up, and functional testing of PCB prototypes. The DSP algorithms will be provided, but the role requires efficient integration and optimization. The engineer must ensure smooth Classic Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP/HFP) and low-power BLE communication (control/data). Responsibilities Develop and integrate firmware for DSP and Bluetooth SoCs (low-power wireless audio). Write and optimize low-level drivers for peripherals (I²C, SPI, UART, ADC/DAC, power management). Implement and debug APIs for communication between Bluetooth (Classic + BLE) and DSP chips. Ensure seamless support for audio streaming over Classic Bluetooth (A2DP/HFP) and control/data via BLE (GATT profiles). Optimize firmware for low power operation and real-time performance. Debug and validate new PCB prototypes with hardware engineer. Design and execute test plans for audio quality, wireless performance, and battery life. Automate test setups using Python/Matlab for audio and signal measurements. Document test results and failure analysis. Requirements Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field. 3–6 years of experience in embedded systems (preferably in audio/low-power devices). Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems. Experience with Bluetooth stacks, Classic profiles (A2DP/HFP), and BLE profiles (GATT). Experience in API integration between multiple ICs (DSP, Bluetooth, sensors). Strong debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD tools. Familiarity with audio DSP concepts (filtering, compression, gain control) a plus. Experience with automated test tools and scripting (Python, Matlab preferred). Ideal Experience Level: 3–6 years
