Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Test Engineer with expertise in Python automation, microcontroller testing, and medical device compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in embedded software validation, hardware debugging, and Agile methodologies, ensuring high-quality, safety-critical systems for regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Embedded Testing & Automation:
Develop and execute Python-based test scripts for embedded systems on Linux OS.
Perform unit, integration, and system testing for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, AVR).
Conduct static/dynamic analysis, code reviews, and requirement tracing per IEC 62304/ISO 13485.
Hardware Debugging:
Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, and function generators to validate embedded hardware/software interactions.
Troubleshoot communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C).
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure adherence to medical device regulations (FDA, CE).
Maintain detailed test reports, traceability matrices, and SDLC documentation.
Collaboration & Agile Practices:
Work with global teams using Azure DevOps for CI/CD and sprint tracking.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must-Have:
4+ years in embedded software testing/automation.
Proficiency in Python for test automation.
Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and hardware tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
Knowledge of UART/SPI/I2C protocols.
Familiarity with version control (GitHub, Bitbucket, Perforce).
Preferred:
Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries.
Exposure to Agile tools (Azure DevOps, Jira).
Understanding of static analysis tools (Coverity, Klocwork).
Education:
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and debugging aptitude.
Excellent communication (written/verbal) and teamwork.
Ability to thrive in a globally distributed team.
