Job Title: Electrical Technician / Electrician

Job Summary

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment in the hospital to ensure uninterrupted power supply and safe functioning of medical and non-medical areas.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Operations & Maintenance

• Maintain and repair hospital electrical systems including LT panels, wiring, lighting, switches, and sockets
• Monitor and maintain DG sets, UPS, and emergency power supply systems
• Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical areas such as OT, ICU, wards, and labs
• Attend and rectify electrical breakdowns promptly

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and hospital regulations
• Conduct routine inspections to prevent electrical hazards
• Follow fire safety and electrical safety protocols
• Maintain proper earthing and insulation standards

Preventive Maintenance

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance activities
• Maintain electrical maintenance records and log books
• Assist in energy-saving initiatives and load management

Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with vendors for electrical works and AMC activities
• Support installation of new equipment and infrastructure
• Assist during emergencies, power failures, and disaster situations

Qualification & Experience

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare facility
• Knowledge of hospital electrical systems and medical equipment power requirements

Skills & Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of DG, UPS, LT panels, and hospital wiring systems
• Awareness of safety standards and compliance
• Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergencies

Working Conditions

• Shift duty (day/night)
• On-call during emergencies
• Exposure to electrical hazards (with safety measures)
