Electrical Technician

Job Summary:

assembly, wiring, testing, commissioning, and maintenance

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. MCC (Motor Control Center) Panel

• Wiring and assembly of

  DOL, Star-Delta, Soft Starter, VFD-based feeders

• Installation of contactors, overload relays, MCB, MCCB, ACB

• Control wiring as per schematic

• Testing of interlocks and motor protections

2. PCC (Power Control Center) Panel

• Busbar installation (Copper/Aluminium)
• ACB/MCCB mounting and wiring
• Power distribution wiring
• Insulation resistance (IR) and continuity testing
• Load verification and phase sequence checking

3. Compartment Panel

• Assembly of

  draw-out / fixed compartments

• Proper segregation of power, control, and busbar sections

• Interlocking mechanisms testing

• Compliance with safety and clearance standards

4. VFD Panel

• Mounting and wiring of

  VFDs, input/output chokes, filters

• Control wiring for start/stop, speed reference, fault indication

• Parameter setting as per application

• EMI / earthing best practices

• Trial run and troubleshooting

5. PLC Panel

• Mounting of

  PLC, SMPS, relays, terminal blocks

• Control and I/O wiring

• Panel-to-field cable termination

• Basic PLC hardware diagnostics

• Loop checking and signal testing

6. APFC Panel

• Installation of

  capacitor banks, reactors, APFC relay

• Step wiring and protection devices

• Power factor correction settings

• Harmonic filter connections (if applicable)

• Functional testing and commissioning

Testing & Commissioning Responsibilities

• Panel internal wiring verification
• Continuity and IR testing
• Functional testing as per FAT checklist
• Site commissioning support
• Troubleshooting electrical faults

Safety & Quality

• Follow

  electrical safety procedures

  and PPE usage
• Maintain proper labeling, ferruling, and dressing
• Adhere to

  IEC / IS standards

• Maintain panel documentation and test reports

Skills & Knowledge Required

• Ability to read

  electrical drawings & GA layouts

• Hands-on experience with panel wiring and assembly

• Knowledge of electrical components and ratings

• Familiar with PLC, VFD basics

• Understanding of earthing and cable management
