Electrical Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Design: Reviewing and interpreting electrical blueprints and specifications. They may also assist in designing electrical systems for the project.
• On-site Supervision: Overseeing the day-to-day electrical work, including the installation of wiring, lighting, power distribution systems, and other electrical equipment. They supervise electricians, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed on time and meets quality standards.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure that all electrical installations comply with project plans, safety regulations, and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC). They perform testing and commissioning of systems to verify they are functioning correctly.
• Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving any technical issues, design flaws, or unexpected problems that arise during the construction process. They act as the main technical advisor for electrical matters on the site.
• Coordination and Communication: Liaising with other members of the project team, including civil engineers, architects, project managers, and clients, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other project components. They prepare progress reports and documentation.
• Budget and Resource Management: Assisting in estimating costs for electrical materials and labor. They also monitor and manage the budget and timeline for the electrical scope of the project.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of electrical theory, power systems, wiring, and relevant codes. Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD or Revit is often required.
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in construction or a related industry, is highly valued.
• Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective, safe, and compliant solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with a diverse team of professionals and stakeholders.
• Leadership: The ability to supervise and motivate a team, manage subcontractors, and ensure project milestones are met.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing plans, inspecting work, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
